My Background

A practising General Practitioner living in Harrogate, Yorkshire.  I am friendly, down-to-earth, positive and enthusiastic, and have always enjoyed social interactions.  I live with my husband, our 11 year old daughter and cute cavapoo, Sidney.  A pivotal time in my life was when I was diagnosed with early Breast Cancer in December 2017.  It made me really analyse what else I wanted to do in life and led to training as a Life Coach with the intention of setting up my own business.

I consider my life having been blessed but have faced some bumps along the way: secondary infertility; postnatal depression; career burnout; balancing a stressful career with parenthood and health issues.  Through the patients I have treated and from my own personal experiences, I know how hard midlife in particular can be.

It is becoming increasingly apparent that we are all bombarded daily with advice on how to lead a long and healthy life, what to do and what not do.  I obviously support the importance of staying well hydrated, getting plenty of sleep, eating as many colourful fruit and vegetables as possible, drinking alcohol in moderation, not smoking, exercising regularly and practising mindfulness and meditation.  None of these can possibly be disputed.

I am also a true believer in the physical and mental health being interrelated. It makes perfect sense that setting goals, stretching ourselves, and reaching our own personal targets set just for us, has an enormous benefit on our wellbeing and overall health.  The real sense of pride, fulfilment and achievement are rewards in themselves.  We truly do have the power to be the person we want to be and live the life we desire.  We just need to “unleash the power from within”, Tony Robbins.

Investing in You

Previously, I strove to be the best mum, the best wife, and the best GP in my perfectionist manner, only to end up feeling that I was failing at it all, I was spreading myself too thinly. We can often overestimate what we can do in the short term and underestimate what we can do in the longer term.  I am loving life now, I have a better work/life balance and varied my working life and that means I have set the scene for the close people surrounding me to be happier too.

We most often concentrate too much on what we are doing and do not pay any attention on where we are going.  Take a look at the path you are currently on and with my help, remind yourself that you are alive, in control, and have all the answers to your own great future.

If someone out there has shown that something is possible, then anyone, including you, can do the same.  Where will you be in 1 year, 5 years, 10 years if you do not take action to be a better version of you?  What about investing in you, becoming empowered to unlock your own answers to your future happiness which is everlasting?  Contact me now to start investing in you.
